PORTLAND – A KGW viewer who saw a photo of a fugitive sex offender on a Wednesday newscast called police and gave them the address where the suspect could be found.
Multnomah County sheriff’s deputies arrested Scott Beaudoin Wednesday evening.
Beaudoin had two, no-bail warrants for his arrest for probation violation and parole violation, detectives said.
Before his arrest, Detective Todd Shanks told KGW the suspect was in a neighborhood where children were present “and he may have access to another victim, so we’re very interested in finding him.”
Shanks, a member of Multnomah County’s Warrant Strike Team, spent several hours on Wednesday trying to locate the suspect.
“He had a three-to-four year relationship and he sexually abused a 13- to 14-year-old female and then went to prison,” Shanks said.
“(He) got out of prison and is currently being supervised by both a parole and probation officer and is not complying with conditions of his probation, and neither his parole or probation officer have any idea of his whereabouts,” Shanks said.
