PORTLAND – A KGW viewer who saw a photo of a fugitive sex offender on a Wednesday newscast called police and gave them the address where the suspect could be found.

Multnomah County sheriff’s deputies arrested Scott Beaudoin Wednesday evening.

Beaudoin had two, no-bail warrants for his arrest for probation violation and parole violation, detectives said.

Before his arrest, Detective Todd Shanks told KGW the suspect was in a neighborhood where children were present “and he may have access to another victim, so we’re very interested in finding him.”

Shanks, a member of Multnomah County’s Warrant Strike Team, spent several hours on Wednesday trying to locate the suspect.

“He had a three-to-four year relationship and he sexually abused a 13- to 14-year-old female and then went to prison,” Shanks said.

“(He) got out of prison and is currently being supervised by both a parole and probation officer and is not complying with conditions of his probation, and neither his parole or probation officer have any idea of his whereabouts,” Shanks said.

Masturbation has a reputation not unlike sleep or, you know, vomiting. It’s known for being a natural, instinctive response to our body’s needs at that moment. It’s also about the environment we’re in when those needs arise. (I’d rather be horny and in the company of bf’s peen than horny and alone. But hey, when the urge occurs, I’ll take what I got at the moment.)

However, rubbing one out isn’t as instinctive for some as it is for others.

“It’s almost like I had to learn what to do down there,” my roommate Carrie said of her masturbation practices a few years ago. “I would just touch down there and play around, but I was never satisfied. I would feel small feelings that felt like I was coming, but nothing great.”

And those kinds of feelings mirrored Carrie’s sex life.

“I was with a guy then and it was like the sex was the same way,” she said. “I didn’t really know what I was doing, and if I did feel like I was coming or going to come, it was small.”

But later on, after poking around down there long enough, Carrie and her vagina began to understand each other.

“It wasn’t until about two years ago that I actually picked up on what was working for me,” she said. “I had to f*ck around, for lack of better term, and see what other stuff could do it for me.”

For many women, the clitoris is where it’s at. In fact, the clit is like a jalapeno in a sexy Nacho Supreme; it may be small but it packs a punch and it guarantees a tasty outcome if approached the right way. But when you focus on the small jalapeno, you miss the part that might be equally if not more beneficial: the vagina (no Nacho Bell Grande equivalent, sorry).

Think of the vagina as a jungle (and not the gross, unshaved kind). Whether you’re a man or a woman, you may be inclined to push your way through to the back of the forest where the temple of the cervix resides, as doodling around in this area may bring about an orgasm. However, you might want to make a mental note to stop for a second once you’re back at the entrance. That’s because the upper front wall of the jungle-er, vagina could cause the goodies to erupt as well, notes Nicole Beland in Women’s Health Mag’s “Female Masturbation Tips.”

Some methods encourage involving both of these areas of the vagina together for maximum giggle-time. For instance, tantric sex includes a method wherein you — the man, the strap-on or the dildo — thrust through only an inch or so for several counts and then thrust all the way through on the last count, increasing the count by one thrust every time. In college terms, you “tip it” three times before going “blls deep,” then tip it four times before going balls deep again, then tip it five times for ballsing it up again, and so on and so forth. This allows for both the front and back parts of the vagina to get attention, and what vagina doesn’t want attention? (Am I right or am I right? *elbow nudge)

Though tantric sex didn’t make its way into Carrie’s sex or masturbatory life, learning what worked for her during solo sessions coincided with a new relationship in which her man knew pretty well what he was doing.

“It’s almost like he knew how to get me off better than I did,” she said. “And now I know what an actual, big orgasm really feels like. So on top of stuff I learned on my own, I have new stuff I can try when masturbating that I never thought of. And that sh*t actually works.”

But, Carrie said, new methods weren’t the only influencing factor in her O-chievements.

“I mean, it doesn’t hurt that he has a fcking horse-cck. I mean, come on.”

Like Carrie, learning what works for you and what doesn’t, be it with another partner’s help or with the guidance of your own two fingers, is necessary to a fulfilling sex life, because when you don’t know what your ‘gina wants, it causes frustration for everybody (and every ‘gina). But don’t bank on Carrie’s luck; horse-c*ck may or may not be included.

Racing to the finish line,

Stella

Getty Images

This morning on “Good Morning America” we asked the question: How old should children be for parents to start talking to them about sex?

Is it 8 to 12 years old? 12 to 15? 15 to 18?

Bringing up the intimate topic can be difficult, sometimes embarrassing, for many parents, but having “the talk” with your children is a necessity, experts say.

Here are few tips from ABC News’ Health and Medical editor Dr. Richard Besser for how you can broach the tricky subject with your child.

It’s not just ‘the talk.’ Make sure to have a series of talks with your children. They may be uncomfortable asking you questions initially, so be sure to come back to the subject and keep the door open.

Start when your child is young and talk about his or her body’s changes. Keep the conversations age-appropriate.

Children are internet-savvy, so be sure to ask them what they already know and verify that their information is correct.

Other Tips for Talking to Your Kids

Planned Parenthood says it’s best to begin talking to children about sexuality during early childhood. But don’t worry if you haven’t started yet. It’s never too late. Just don’t try to “catch up” all at once. The most important thing is to be open and available whenever a child wants to talk.

Planned Parenthood offers other tips on how to initiate the conversation:

There are four basic steps that can help parents talk to their children about sex.

Step 1: Validate your child’s question and ask why they’re asking.

If your child approaches you, you might say something like, “That’s a really interesting question. How did that come up today? Why are you asking me that today?”

Don’t assume there’s anything beside curiosity behind the question. A young girl may ask a question about pregnancy without being pregnant. A young boy may ask a question about condoms without planning to have sexual intercourse.

Step 2: Ask, “What do you think?”

What seems like a straightforward question might not be. To find out the true nature of the question, you might ask, “What have you heard about that?” “What do you think about that?” or “Can you tell me what you already know about that?”

Step 3: Answer the question honestly, based on your values.

It is very important to gain children’s trust when talking with them about sex so they feel comfortable approaching you about decisions and questions. Answer questions age-appropriately. Pre-teens and younger adolescents may need simpler, more concrete answers. The ability to handle more information and more sophisticated information increases with age, but if they are old enough to ask, they are old enough to understand the facts.

Additional Tips on Talking About Sex

It is also important to tell children or teens about your values and beliefs and to understand theirs. You might say to a teen, “I don’t believe anyone is allowed to pressure or force anyone else to have sex, even in a relationship. Do you agree with that?”

Step 4: Ask your child if they understand the answer.

After answering the question, ask, “Does that answer your question?” Ask them to tell you what they heard. You may even want to bring up issues you already talked about to find out how much your child understood during the previous conversation.

Try to be open and available when a child wants to talk.

Some common fears that many parents have include:

Looking dumb. Many of us weren’t taught about sex and sexuality, yet we may feel that we should know all the answers. But if our children ask us about something we don’t know, we can simply say, “I don’t know. Let’s find out together.”

Feeling embarrassed. It’s very common for parents or children to feel embarrassed when talking about sex and sexuality. The best way to handle it is to admit how we’re feeling — we can simply say, “I might get a little tense or uncomfortable during this conversation, and you might, too. That’s OK for both of us — it’s totally normal.”

Encouraging sexual experimentation. There is a myth that information about sex is harmful to children and that it will lead to sexual experimentation. The fact is that our children won’t be more likely to have sex if we talk about it. In reality, kids who talk with their parents about sex are more likely to postpone having sex.

Feeling as though talking won’t make a difference. Children look to their parents to teach them about sexuality. Most young people prefer to hear about it from their parents than from other people. In fact, young adolescents place parents at the top of their list of influences when it comes to their sexual attitudes and behaviors.

Two-thirds of men reported erection problems, often linked to lack of sex drive

More than two-thirds of men who contacted an email advice service run by a leading sexual advice charity had erection problems, which were frequently linked to loss of sex drive, according to research in the October issue of IJCP, the International Journal of Clinical Practice.

The study by UK researchers also found that a large number of men from the Middle East and Indian subcontinent sought email advice on problems with premature ejaculation and masturbation. Previous research has suggested that these issues are often related to arranged marriages.

People can contact the UK-based Sexual Advice Association by telephone or email and talk to a chartered psychologist. More detailed advice is available from a multi-disciplinary medical team that includes a family doctor with a special interest in men’s health, a cardiologist, urologist, psychiatrist, gynaecologist and sexual health clinical nurse practitioner.

The IJCP study looked at the 5,531 telephone calls and 2,160 emails received during 2009 and 2010, with specific reference to the 673 emails that required a more in-depth reply from a doctor specialising in male sexual dysfunction.

Most people found out about the service through the charity’s website, which attracted more than 200,000 visitors from 20 different countries during the study period, from as far afield as Afghanistan and Zimbabwe. More than two-thirds were from the UK, with a significant number of visitors from the USA, India, Canada and Singapore.

“A lot of men do not seek medical advice for sexual problems and it is estimated that only half of them will seek help within a year” says lead author and family doctor Dr John Tomlinson, who ran a hospital-based men’s health clinic for nine years and now works with the Sexual Advice Association.

“Although there have been a number of reports in the literature about the value of telephone helplines, little is known about the role of email advice in supporting patients with sexual problems.”

Analysis of the 673 emails that required an in-depth reply showed that:

71% were from the UK, 23% were from outside the UK and the rest were unknown. Men aged 21 to 30 were most likely to make contact by email, accounting for a quarter of those received.

The most common problems were erection problems (69%), loss of sex drive (17%), premature ejaculation (12%), masturbation problems (10%) and genital problems (12%).

Erection problems increased with age and the age groups most concerned with premature ejaculation and lack of sex drive were 31 to 40 years and 41 to 50 years respectively.

Men in the UK were more likely to express concerns about erection problems and lack of sex drive than men outside the UK. UK men with erection problems tended to be older than those outside the UK averaging 47 years of age compared with 37 years.

Premature ejaculation and masturbation worries were more commonly reported by men from outside the UK, particularly from the Indian subcontinent. These included concerns that excessive masturbation in adolescence had caused their current sexual problems.

70% of the men who expressed concerns about the size of their penis or a bend in their erection were under 40.

Advice included contacting their family doctor, getting their testosterone checked – particularly if they were over 40 or had diabetes or heart disease – and referral to a specialist charity for sexual and relationship therapy.

“Telephone advice lines are an established source of support for patients with sexual problems” says co-author Professor Kevan Wylie, who specialises in sexual medicine at Sheffield Care NHS Trust. “Our study shows that e-mail advice and counselling are also an increasingly important and effective resource for men who find it difficult to discuss intimate issues with their family doctor.

“Sexual problems can have a serious impact on people’s quality of life and relationships and can often point to underlying medical problems that need attention. We believe that the advice provided by organisations like the Sexual Advice Association is invaluable in helping men to get the treatment and advice they need.”

January 27, 2011

BY ROB MAADDI

AP SPORTS WRITER

PHILADELPHIA — Michael Vick is back pitching products.

Vick has signed his first paid endorsement contract since his release from prison. The Philadelphia Eagles’ Pro Bowl quarterback inked a two-year contract with Unequal Technologies, a provider of the football pads Vick wore most of last season.

The deal will be announced on Thursday.

“We’re real excited about it,” chief executive officer Rob Vito said Tuesday. “Michael is good people. He paid his dues. President Obama reached out to him. He deserves an opportunity. This is what makes America so great. He’s moved forward. He’s a whole other person.”

Vito said Vick is the company’s first corporate spokesman. Terms of his deal weren’t disclosed. But Vito said it’s a “sizable” contract.

“We believe it was worth it,” he said, “because of Michael Vick and how he can shed light on the technology of our products.”

Unequal Technologies makes several shock-blocking sports pads.

When Vick returned after missing three games with a rib injury, he wore a vest designed by Unequal. He later wore shoulder pads and thigh pads made by the company.

“The Unequal technology is a part of my game now and I won’t play without my Unequal,” Vick said in a statement acquired by The Associated Press. “Unequal’s protective power gives me a whole new level of confidence in my game. It makes me feel invincible.”

Vick was once the NFL’s highest-paid player and he endorsed many products during his six seasons with the Atlanta Falcons. But Vick lost everything following his 2007 arrest and later conviction on dogfighting charges, for which he served 18 months in federal prison.

He returned to the NFL in 2009 with the Eagles, and worked his way from a seldom-used third-string quarterback to the key cog on a division-winning team. He will start for the NFC in the Pro Bowl this weekend.

Vick appeared in a television commercial for a car dealership last month. However, he didn’t get paid for it. He was compensated by having use of a Nissan sport utility vehicle.

An Auckland pharmacist who sold Viagra and lifestyle medicines to people without prescriptions is set to face a stiff penalty.

Arief Katamat was found guilty by the Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal of selling impotence medicine Viagra, hairloss medication Propecia, weight loss medication Reductil, and the controlled medicine codeine, among other drugs, to people without prescriptions.

He also sold prescription-only medicines as wholesale and was found guilty of professional misconduct through malpractice or negligence that was likely to bring discredit to the pharmacy profession, the tribunal found.

Katamat was in charge of three Auckland pharmacies including, Mt Roskill Pharmacy, when the charge was laid in August 2010.

Among discrepancies were 255.35 bottles, or 25,535 tablets, of codeine phosphate 30mg which were unaccounted for, a Ministry of Health audit dated June 2008 and 31 May 2009 found.

Codeine phosphate is the key ingredient in flu medication which is used as a P-precursor.

Katamat was the sole pharmacist for the Mt Roskill Pharmacy when the discrepancy occured.

Also included in the tribunal’s findings was a report referring to an analysis of the Mt Roskill pharmacy.

Customers would come in especially for Katamat and demand medicines such as antibiotics, without a prescription, evidence in the tribunal showed.

On one instance, the pharmacy computer revealed a cash sale of 30 units of codeine phosphate 15mg in February 2008 with the patient called ‘sale, cash’ and no address.

Katamat was deregistered as a pharmacist and ordered to pay $78,428 in costs for the investigations.

BOURNE (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – A 14-year-old Bourne boy got quite the surprise when his order from a paintball company arrived. Inside was nothing like what he ordered.

Connor Whelihan ordered a barrel for his paintball gun from PaintballOnline.com. The teen saved up for the $60 to buy his new accessory. When the package came, Connor and his mother, Deborah, were shocked.

Inside they found three boxes of Viagra, sexual enhancement oils and an adult DVD.

Connor first started laughing when the box came.

“It was so far off from what I ordered,” he said. His mom, however, was angry.

The Whelihans tried to contact the Vancouver, WA-based company, but no one would answer their questions. They ended up cancelling their order.

PaintballOnline did not return FOX 25′s phone calls.

OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland planning commission on Wednesday gave unanimous approval for a sex toy business to open shop. The 5-to-0 vote in favor of the Good Vibrations store came despite some community opposition.

The Lakeshore shopping district is one of Oakland’s retail gems. San Francisco-based sex shop Good Vibrations wants to open its newest store on the 3000 block of Lakeshore Avenue.

Oakland resident Robbin Rasbury who shops in the area sees no issues with the move.

“For variety, because some shops here don’t always stay,” said Rasbury. “But maybe that one would.”

Good Vibrations has one store in Berkeley and three in San Francisco. The stores cater mostly to women and couples and have discreet window displays.

They sell adult-oriented toys, books and other materials as well as offering health and education programs.

Some Oakland residents said they have concerns not just about Good Vibrations.

They’re worried if that store leaves, another adult entertainment business could take over the permit.

Maria Leung said as a mother she has some reservations

“But I also recognize that it’s a great store and they have some great things,” allowed Leung.

Joshua Blissett said he is not convinced the Lakeshore district is the right place for the store.

“I mean, there’s lots of other places — even in the neighborhood — that might be a better spot than right here,” said Blissett.

The planning director said the site is more than 500 feet from schools, hospitals, and senior centers.

There would be strict conditions regarding the store, with no adult merchandise allowed within 10 feet of the entrance and a requirement that windows be partly clear with tasteful displays showing no adult sex products.

The planning commission decision can be appealed to the city council. Anyone can file an appeal in 10 days if they pay a fee of more than $1,000.
